According to the article, renters of two-bedroom apartments in the five boroughs save an average of over $7,000 each year. Renters of three-bedroom spots save even more: $11,723. Both of those figures rate as the highest among all major U.S. cities, and by a wide margin too.
If you decide to ditch a studio, the percentage of savings passed on to a renter of a two-bedroom apartment along with a roommate is an astounding 26% per year, nationwide.
